Celtic Oktoberfest: Day 7

PROST! It’s Oktoberfest day! We must find some dirndls so that we would be properly attired for the celebration. We headed to Angermaier Tracten, which is well known for Oktoberfest-wear. We wanted to go to the second hand shop, but they weren’t open yet…or for that day and we had reservations in a tent at 11:00 am.

And there were soooo many options! Most were not in the price range we were looking for…but we did find some dresses and they weren’t exactly the same, so winning! Then it was a quick walk over to Eric’s Airbnb to meet the rest of the gang and to change so we could all head over to the fest together.

Our reservations at Pschorr, which weren’t all that expensive (about $36/person) included 2 liters of beer and a half a chicken. They were from 11a – 4p. That’s like half the day, which we learned was all you kind of really needed. It was, OMG, so fun. It was never on my bucket list, but I would go again in a heartbeat and am so glad I did it in the first place. What an experience. We took a break after our reservations were done (I got some wurst – because you should), we went back to the Airbnb and then headed back to Oktoberfest. We tried to get into another tent, but they were all full up. It was crazy. That just meant we got to explore more and there’s so much going on! We stayed until the sunset (it was beautiful).

After going back home to change, we headed back out. We had to go check out some of Munich since we were here after all. We headed in the direction of the original Hofbrau Haus. Anne and I tend to make our trips about food…and in Germany there were things we must try. I got the wiener schnitzel and she got the spaetzle. We were able to snag a table (which was rather difficult) and made some new friends. The vibe of Hofbrau Haus was similar to that of Oktoberfest (loud and jovial). The food was delicious and the beer was good. Gute nacht!
