Celtic Oktoberfest: Day 9

It’s our first full day in Dublin. Lots of adventures await us in this fun city. Some of the amazing-ness of the day was getting to sleep in, kind of. Our first “event” of the day was a visit to Trinity College. We were going to check out the Book of Kells and more importantly, the Old Library. That was really the only thing we had planned for the day. Which meant the rest of the day was for bumming around Dublin.
The Book of Kells was actually pretty interesting, but the Library was so cool. And then, we were starving so we searched out a Queen of Tarts in the rainy weather and found one near Temple Bar and got in line. So many delicious looking options on the menu.
After our delicious lunch, we hopped over to the Four Courts (lawyer-ly things) and down to the Ha’Penny Bridge over the River Liffey. We were supposed to meet a couchsurfer at Brogan’s, but it wasn’t open yet so we hopped over to Peadar Kearney’s for a Guinness. It was Francoise’s first Guinness in Dublin. After a couple beers, our new friend left to go do some exploring. We headed over to Brogan’s. Like I said previously (on day 1), I like Brogan’s. A couple other surfers met up with us there and Francoise came by after he was done exploring. Whoo! impromptu Couchsurfer meet-up. We met us with Camila and Jithi…and made a new Irish friend Robbie.
We lost track of time just conversing and drinking beer and didn’t realize that dinner time had come and gone. By the time we decided it was time to head home, we were very hungry. We stopped at Abrakebabra for fancy fries (taco fries & rodeo fries) and a doner kebab.
