Social Media

On July 21st, I decided to open up yet another Instagram account. I know, why would I ever do that…wasn’t 4 IG accounts already 3 too many? In essence yes. Then again, why did I start yet another account? Hang in there for just a while longer.
My main Instagram account (and oldest) is @InstaBaramee. This is where my IG life started (and I think originally called something else) and contained EVERYTHING…then it was becoming a lot so I broke it up a bit into the following two accounts. Now, @InstaBaramee contains snippets of my personal life (which apparently is a lot of people and drinks).

The second account is @BarameeEats (formerly known as @IMBaramee). This account is ALL about food (like the previous post). This account is probably the most chronologically correct in terms of when things get posted.

The third account is @BarameeTravels (formerly known as @Chococat.Travels). This account is all about traveling and where we (me and Cat) have been on our adventures. More recently, I’ve been forgetting to include Cat in the pictures, but he is always with me.

The fourth account is @MalortFaces. It contains short video clips of people trying Malort for the first time. As I’m a part of the Couchsurfing community (I’m actually an ambassador). I really enjoying being a surfer, but even moreso being a host. One of the things we’d do together would be to grab a drink. Malort is a Chicago staple and basically a must drink. My thought, how cool would it be to “collect” different people from different places from different cultures doing the iconic Chicago shot? I personally enjoy the account, but I’m biased. With the COVID situation going on right now, video footage and capture moments has slowed down a bit (I’m not hosting) so all footage is whatever I have that has been yet to be uploaded.

The fifth, and currently most recent, account is @BarameePhotography. This account is all the pretty pictures that don’t really gel with branding of the other accounts and a place for me to share my “pretty” pictures.

One thing about ALL of the accounts is that almost always, posts are never in real time and are, more or less, a day, a week, a month, etc late. Things in the stories are the things that are real time. With all these accounts, I think it now pretty much covers ALL of the photos that live on my phone.
On top of Instagram, I also have a Twitter, YouTube, TikTok…but none of these really get any love. Have you seen an uptick in your social media activity or have you gotten rid of it finding you spend too much time on it?
