I recent trend (but really not so recent) is frequenting places that are very instagram-able (you know, for the pretty picture). I can’t say I’m not guilty of doing this myself. But as I don’t like to actually be in the pictures…it’s just pictures of the pretty place. I’ve gotta get better at that being in front of the camera thing…or to just get myself a worth photography HAHAHA. I’m terrible at being in front of the camera, I never know what to do and get bored easily. So, I tend to take pictures of food things and drink things (because I also get to consume these things.
Chom Cafe is the perfect place for pretty pictures. The restaurant/dining area itself is nice enough, but that’s not what you’re really going for. It’s the space outside…all the beautiful green space and water features. Their beverages (the signature ones run a bit on the pricey side but they are something to look at. It’s seriously pretty and a haven for Instagrammers.

The dessert we got (we only got one – Love at First Site) was okay. It was their take on a strawberry shortcake in a wine glass. There was one real big strawberry on top, but the rest of the strawberry components were artificial and sugary. I did like that there was a bunch of cookie/graham cracker crumbles at the bottom of the too dense/dry cake (see how I did that). The cream was light, which was nice.

The coffee drinks. I originally ordered was called Dark Night and I ordered it because it looked kind of cool. The presentation was good. It was like a dark chocolate espresso and definitely tasted that way. The drink itself was an experience. And because I’m me, I had to order another drink because Instagram. I ordered the Cloud Americano. I had to order it. Over a steamy hot mug of coffee was a puff of cotton candy. The coffee was hot enough that the steam melted the cotton candy above it giving you…and americano.
Honestly, the dessert was okay (not really worth the value)…same went for the coffee. If anything, I would say that I was paying for the views and the IG captures. I haven’t tried the actual food so who knows, maybe it’d still be worth it.
