Stateside

Yes, you read that right. I’m well over do for a post. I just could not be bothered in May as left in “lock down” is fairly boring. Most of it was literally spent at home eating, sleeping, teaching. I have a post about it, but never finished it and never posted it. It may still go up…at some point in the future. I went through the trouble of starting it…(I posted it. Yay for being productive!)

So, as I write this…I believe it’s Thursday, June 10th. I’ve been home for just shy of 1 week. I’ve since tested negative again after having landed. I’ve driven from Chicago to MN and I’ve gotten my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. I’m sleepy a lot, but I’m not sure if it’s from the vaccine or if it’s from my extreme lack of sleep the last week I was in Bangkok.

I go to sleep at a normal-ish time (between 10p-1a), but tend to wake up around 3 or 4am (totally not ideal). I have been sleeping an hour more with each passing night which is fantastic. I’m still tutoring English online whenever my students schedule a lesson. Even with all this, food & drink are always involved (LOL).

I feel ilke the 2 months while I’m stateside will go by very, very fast. This week I’m up in MN laying low. Next week, I’ll be back in Chicago (and it’s also birthday week!). Then I’m just hanging around and getting my second dose. At the end of July, Rachana, my brother and I are headed to NYC for a few days. It’ll be the first time for my brother and the second time for Rachana. It’ll be a blast I’m sure (and especially the backyard BBQ per usual). And then…I get ready to head back to Thailand.

MN activities:
1. Eating things and hanging out with my brother (and Iris)

2. Hanging out with Liz @ The Sample Room

Leaving Thailand was a bit bittersweet. I was excited to be able to come back to see my friends and family and to get vaccinated, but I truly miss my friends and being in Thailand even though I further proved my expert level ability of staying home.

Oh, also it’s Baramee Birthday Month. Crazy enough, with my life up in the (STILL), I almost forgot about Baramee Birthday Month! Can you believe that? Me…how could I forget about Baramee Birthday Month (it did start off with a bang though…so let’s continue the celebrations!).

because I’m celebrating BIRTHDAY MONTH
