It Wasn’t Enough Time

Conclusion: 3 weeks in Thailand (for Baramee) is not enough time.
Regardless of that fact, I had a blast. I got to see and spend time with a lot of my friends. I got to do some of my normal Baramee things. It was like I was back home. I even got to stay in my most favorite neighborhood, but let’s get real. Where else would I stay?
We landed early (super early) on a Wednesday (after having left Chicago Monday evening). We (my cousin) took a nap and I worked a little bit before getting some breakfast. First thing I eat in Bangkok, moo ping and sticky rice. Then it was onto our massages (the only way to start your vacation in Thailand after a super long journey to get there).
We did some touristy things. We visited samples. We went to night markets. We ate a lot of food. We did some shopping and visited the malls.
I met up with some of my friends, a lot of my friends, but I missed out on a lot of my dive buddies and my entire group of friends that live in Chiang Mai. [sad face]
I did not have enough time to go on a dive trip [another sad face].
I was with my cousin for 2 weeks. And then I spent an additional week there on my own. 3 weeks was not enough time. I needed more time with my friends. More time to spend with them, to hang out with them to create memories.
But, I did come back for one fantastic memory. I came back for my grandfather’s 92nd birthday celebration. It turned out to be bigger than anyone probably expected and required everyone’s help. Our family is big, so thank goodness for that.
