Restaurant Club: December

Burger Club has changed to Restaurant Club. As prices for everything seem to soar around the world, we’re trying to be a little nicer to our wallets. So instead of burgers twice a month, we’re going to restaurants once a month. But, there still may be burgers involved as the occasion/craving fits.

November was a crazy month, but we made plans (post-Spain trip – my friend) to check out a restaurant that’s been showing up on our radar. Another reason we chose December’s restaurant was because they started a promotion on Wednesdays & Thursdays that was of extreme interest.

Omakase Box
3038 W Armitage Ave | Chicago, IL 60647

Promo:
$49/person
Furikake edamame | 7pc nigiri | your choice of 2 handrolls*

We all chose to get the promotional omakase, but we added miso soup ($4) and mochi ($4/each) to it. I also got the spiced herbal tea (47), which was fantastic. One of the handrolls we ordered (negi toro had a $4 upcharge, I believe).

I would say, though, it was a fantastic experience, and the food was very good and truly satisfying. We were the perfect amount of full. The fish was super fresh, and the flavors were wonderful. The staff was great, attentive, but not all over you. The service was very quick, and even if it wasn’t, we didn’t really notice. The pacing of the courses was good, and we were able to talk and enjoy our food. The space isn’t huge, but it wasn’t overly busy or crowded either (we went on a Wednesday). They also have counter seating as well. But like I said, overall, it was a great experience.
